Kelsey began her journey at Explorers in May 2024 as an Accounting Manager and as of September 2025, she stepped into her new role as Lending Manager.

Prior to joining Explorers, Kelsey spent seven years as a dealership controller, where she led multi-entity financial operations, oversaw compliance functions, and managed rapid month-end close cycles. Before that, she built a strong foundation in public accounting through four years of tax preparation, review, and audit work. Her depth of experience and love for numbers make her a tremendous asset to our team and our members.

Kelsey earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 2014, followed by her Master of Science in Accounting in 2015. Her educational background laid the groundwork for her strong analytical skills and passion for financial excellence.

Kelsey was raised in Crofton, Nebraska and remains deeply rooted in the community. She values the close-knit community and the relationships that make Northeast Nebraska special.

Kelsey and her husband, Alex, live on a farm near Crofton, Nebraska with their two children, Archer and Sloane. When they aren’t busy driving to activities or cheering from the sidelines, you’ll most likely find them at the river.

As avid outdoor enthusiasts, their family enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending as much time outside as possible. Kelsey expressed, “if there’s sunshine and water involved, I’m happy – bonus points if it’s at the river”. She’s also a self-proclaimed accounting nerd who genuinely loves numbers and lives for a good Excel spreadsheet. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, baking, gardening, and canning – appreciating the simple joys in creating something from scratch.
