Parkston Branch New Temporary Hours of Operation
While keeping the health and safety of everyone in mind, we will re-opened the Parkston Branch on October 1, 2020 with new temporary hours of operation:
Monday – Friday: 10 AM – 4 PM
Saturday: 9 AM – 12 Noon
We have and will continue to take the necessary steps to protect everyone inside our buildings. This includes wearing face masks, social distancing, enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures, as well as plexiglass dividers at our teller lines and loan officers’ desks.
It is our goal to limit face-to-face contact as much as possible and therefore encourage you to utilize online banking and the Explorers CU mobile app as much as possible to check balances, make payments, transfer funds, or deposit checks.

Explorers Credit Union Reopens All Lobbies
The past few months, we have all experienced life that has been placed on pause and explored new ways of conducting every day tasks.
Explorers Credit Union has been serving our members since 1962, we want to ensure you that together we will move forward to a bigger and brighter future.
We are very excited to re-open our lobby areas to welcome you back, while keeping the health and safety of everyone in mind.
Beginning WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, our lobbies will be open.
Below you will find the steps we’re taking to protect everyone inside our buildings as we begin the process of re-opening our lobbies. To further adhere to social distancing guidelines, we will be limiting the number of members in our branches and will have staff members on hand to direct you.
We’ve implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures in our facilities. We will be regularly disinfecting high-touch surfaces. Please note that until we have fully relaxed our protocols, we will not be offering coffee service or popcorn on Fridays.
We will have hand sanitizer available for your personal use. We encourage you to utilize the hand sanitizers before and after your transaction. You will also be encouraged to keep any Explorers CU pens you may use.
Please be mindful of others to allow for at least six feet of distance from one another. You can follow our signage and floor stickers inside our branch for placement while waiting.
We’ve also added plexiglass dividers at our teller lines and loan officers’ desks.
We are highly encouraging masks among teammates and members when the social distancing recommendation of six feet cannot be met. Please keep in mind that for identification purposes, you may be asked to temporarily remove your mask.
We are still limiting face-to-face contact as much as possible and therefore encourage you to utilize online banking and the Explorers CU mobile app as much as possible to check balances, make payments, transfer funds, or deposit checks.
If you are ill or have been exposed to COVID-19, we ask that you do not come into the credit union. Rather you can use our drive up service or give us a call.

Explorers Credit Union Reopens Springfield and Parkston Lobbies
Our Springfield and Parkston branch lobbies are now open to assist our members. Explorers CU has instituted protective measures and encourages our members to follow social distancing standards as set forth by the CDC. For additional hours at your location, click here.

Explorers Credit Union Lobby by Appointment Only
Our thoughts and hearts go out to those people around the world and here at home impacted by COVID-19.
With guidance of public health officials and government agencies, we have made the decision to open our lobby by appointment only effective Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice. The health of our employees and members must come first.
During this time, Explorers Credit Union is well prepared to help you without interruption in service and ensure that your financial needs are met. As a reminder, you can utilize the following services:
- All branch drive up lanes will remain open in Springfield and Yankton
- Our Parkston Branch will operate by appointment only and check Night Drop items frequently
- Use online banking and the Explorers CU mobile app to check balances, make payments, transfer funds, or deposit checks. If you haven’t registered yet, we encourage you to create your online account today. If you are having trouble with access, please call us at 800.491.4309.
- You can take care of most of your cash needs via our extensive ATM network. Please take the time now to note the locations most convenient to you.
- For account balances, ACH or direct deposit notifications, you can use our Text banking option, and
- You can also take advantage of CU Talk by calling 605.665.4309 and pressing Option 4.
Although we recognize the days ahead will be challenging, we will remain true to the very heart of our purpose – financial empowerment for everyone while remaining passionate about people.
We encourage members and staff to take precautions to protect their health. With this in mind, Explorers Credit Union is utilizing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines to ensure we are helping our employees and members by providing accurate information about the public health threat posed by the virus. We can each take steps to help slow the spread of disease, including:
- Wash your hands often, with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
- When possible, avoid shaking hands.
- Use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
- Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces regularly.
- Avoid contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.

Explorers Credit Union Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
There is no higher priority than the safety of our members, employees and community. In light of recent developments with respect to COVID-19, or coronavirus, we are implementing additional precautionary measures and have provided information to help you stay prepared and safe.
