At Explorers, you have the privilege of being a member-owner, giving you a voice in important decisions. Our Nominating Committee has put forth three member-owners just like you who are responsible for appointing the CEO, guiding strategic planning, and representing the interests of our members. Those candidates are:
Don Cuka is a lifelong Yankton resident with 29 years at Wilson Trailer Company and has a strong record of community service, including the Yankton Fire Department, Search and Rescue, and the Trustee Committee at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Now retired from firefighting and living outside city limits, Don sees serving on the Board of Directors as a way to stay involved and give back to the credit union that has supported his family for years.
With a collaborative leadership style and expertise in financials, compliance, and risk management, Don is ready to help guide strategic growth. He and his wife Melissa live on a farm near Yankton with their four children and enjoy outdoor activities like fishing and camping.
Todd Quatier brings decades of professional and personal experience to his Board of Directors nomination. He currently serves as Supervisor of Plant Operations at Vermillion Medical Center and is retired from a 37-year state career, including as Physical Plant Manager at the Human Services Center in Yankton. He also served 22 years in the South Dakota National Guard.
A Yankton High School graduate and lifelong Explorers Credit Union member, Todd opened his first account in the 1970s with his father, a former board member. “It would be an honor to give back to an organization that’s served me so well,” he says.
Todd lives on an acreage outside Yankton, where he enjoys woodworking, hunting, fishing, and restoring cars and equipment. He values the credit union’s fair rates, friendly staff, and member-first approach—and looks forward to contributing to its future.
Dan Bentley brings strong experience in finance, accounting, and business analysis to his Board of Directors nomination. Currently a Business Analyst at Masaba Inc. in Vermillion, he previously held roles at Sanford Health, where he began his career as an accountant.
A Yankton High School graduate, Dan earned his bachelor’s in Accounting from Colorado State University and his MBA in Finance from Louisiana State University—graduating with a 4.0 GPA from both.
A credit union member since middle school, Dan values honest service and believes his financial expertise would support Explorers’ continued success. He lives in Yankton with his wife Ashley, a Lead Credit Representative at Sanford Health, and their three daughters. He enjoys sports, family camping trips, and working on his “fun car.”
Nominations by petitions closed as of April 14. Don Cuka, Dan Bentley, and Todd Quatier were the only nominees. All three will serve the terms they were nominated for, and there will be no election. We can’t wait to see you at our annual meeting on Friday, June 27th at 10am!
Join us at one of our Annual Member Cookouts where we say thank you the tastiest way we know how—with free burgers, brats, and smiles!
